Ray of Light.

Okay, here’s a quiz. It’s a fill-in-the-blank.

It was the first time we’ve spoken since he left and boy, that call was right on time. He’s been such a stellar sport down there the people in charge cut him a break and gave him a good chunk of time to use the phone. We talked for over 20 minutes! He sounded good but worried about me. The call made me feel better. One of the reasons I married this person is because he has a the ability to give me a backbone transplant when I need one, no anesthesia required.

“You can flip out if you want, okay?” D.W. said. “But you can choose to not do that, too. I know it’s hard. And no one can do this for you. But you can decide how you feel. Okay? Okay, Boo?”

I said, “Okay.”

In less than a month, I’ll fly out to South Carolina to see him graduate from this phase of his training. It is one more excellent reason for me to get well as soon as I can. We both shared that we have a vision of me, running pell mell into his arms when I see him.

I gotta be able to run by then.
